    Weber Idle jet

Still chasing carb or ignition problem. Found Protronix wired to ballast side of coil and changed to full 12 volts. Check carb jets and only difference from spec for a 68 911L was the idle jet was a 50 instead of a 55. Is a 55 richer or leaner than a 50?

    Weber jets.

Hello: The larger the number on the jet the bigger the hole. Your 50 idle jet is smaller than the 55. It is actually the diameter of the hole in mm. It is 0.55mm. Did you check the jets for being clogged? The idle jets are very bad for that. Hold the jet up to the light and see if you can look through them. Clean out with carb spray and compressed air. Don't use metal picks etc. If you can't clean them out that way use wooden toothpicks. The wood won't damage the jet. Good luck. Thanks Eric

Thanks. I will checked the others tomorrow. The one I checked today was clear. Found the correct Pertronix unit today for a 006 distributor. Hope to soon have this thing were it has some better throtle response.
