Thread: What is the color of your engine compartment?

What is the color of your engine compartment?

I have '71 911S that I am restoring. My engine compartment has the wurth undercoating, painted red (body color) and then painted satin black, although it's wearing thin and some red is showing. I've seen many pictures of various 911's and most of them are painted black with the occasional body colored one. Question is what is the correct color? Thanks Allan

There are many posts regarding this detail.

I think you will find that your 71 is exactly as described. Body colour with black brushed over it, usually worn enought to show the body colour in places.
