4 Piece Trunk Carpet and Glue

My car was missing the front section that covers the forward bulkhead, so I'm not sure how it attaches. Does it get glued along the top edge and then drape over the windshield washer reservoir? Also, I can see remnants of glue for the side sections, but only on the rear 2/3 of the trunk. I take it this is to make the carpet follow the contour of the trunk sides while still allowing access to the batteries in front. Sound right? Thanks

I've not had any 911s with glued front carpets. Button snaps, 3 per side is what I know.

Really?! Aren't the side pieces supposed to cling to the contours of the strut tower area? Obviously, my car's glue residue 30 years down the road does not equate to original, so I'll let that idea go, but what about the front piece, does it get glued anywhere, or does it just sit on the pan area in front of the gas tank? Thanks

No.. You right , the glue is original... The side pcs were glued on the strut towers and along the top fender edge to give them a clean contoured look,,, plus the snaps and one fender bolt on each side pc... The front bulkhead carpet pc is glued on just under the top edge..

Heres some pics to show side glue off an original 71T that Robert knows. You can see glue in rear areas and front carpet still attached

Thank you! That's just where the glue is on mine.

    Hi Clyde,

Do you have any more pics of this 71?

I need to get a collection of these together for my assembly and final textures and paint of my 70 and these are perfect.
