    700 mile 911 detail

I was mainly concentrating on small details and what I could get within the limits of the trailer and locked doors.

You know what the best part about the 700 Mile S was?

The FACTORY drip in the paint.

Yes, folks, there was a drip on one of the rear quarters. It was so beautiful that it brought a drip to my eye.

We live in an era of "restored" cars which are oftentimes OVER-restored. It's easy to forget that these cars were hand-built, and it's refreshing to know that there was time when these cars were allowed to leave the factory with minor blemishes like a small drip in the paint. It's what gave them character; made each car individual ... made each car perfect in its own right.

    That's what I noticed on the 700 Mile S.

In the third picture down, the front wheel well detail, it appears as if the black paint was sprayed at right angles to the vertical inner panel, and therefore not covering the small horizontal area where the panel bends under to meet the pan seam. Other shots seem to show that the black paint wasn't applied by a perfectionist, with bare (grey/beige) undercoating showing up all over the underside of the car. Good reference info and very interesting shots, thank you very much.

Thanks for the pics of this little gem, chaps.
I would really like to see this time warp in person, one day.
However,I hope for safety's sake that the XWXs are changed before the car turns a wheel.
I had several sets of XWXs on a '74 S that I had,but these ones look scarey to me !
    Cheers,
    Dennis.
