No word on Rennsport. LOTS of McLarens - which was cool - but absolutely no 917/10 or 917/30 CanAm cars???? Strange.
Here's Jim's (swbs) 1957 356 and a CanAm car with a Hemi - check out the straight headers.
Great idea driving the vintage cars through town. they should do that more often in the towns close to a track - sure method to generate interest and new fans. BTW, the cars shown are great.

Here're a few more images from Elkhart:
It was about 100 degrees both nights.
that last one is me carefully checking the R Gruppe member credentials of Rodolfo Vilalabos who traveled from Mexico City. The secret handshake followed ...
Is that a Jeff Gordon shirt you are wearing Curt?

Curt,
That's a great shot of Augie Pabst's "Meister Brauser" Scarab. I believe that it is the same car with which he won the SCCA national championship in
1960. Chuck Pelly (I believe that his design company is still in operation) designed the car, Ken Miles executed the chassis layout and it was built by Troutman & Barnes for Lance Reventlow. Powered by a Hilborn injected small block Chevy, the car is not only a stunningly beautiful design, but also a ferocious beast on the track even now, 45 years+ after its inception. I saw them race in their heyday at The Milwaukee Mile's infield road course, Road America and Lyndale Farms, which is now a sleepy subdivision. It was a Hotrodder kid's intro to sportscars.
Thanks for the great photos.
Jim
P.S. I could be mistaken, but the fuse box cover (and likely the innards) on the left side of the dash appears to be plucked directly from a 356 Porsche.
