    I was thinking about that very point and the theme I get from the 914 forum is that there are more guys over there without the leeway to always write a check. I applaud the tenacity of that board. That said, I am indeed writing a check for my 901 rebuild next month. I wish I had the time, because I don't have much more money than I do time (not enough of either!).

    I finished mine up about 2 months ago. There are several good resources available online that cover the procedure (I'll try to post some URLs if anyone is interested). Although I can't attest to the outcome, as the motor is still just half assembled, the gearbox project was manageable, educational, and rewarding. If you can build a motor, a gearbox is a snap. I can't wait to try my rebuilt type 911, now with with AFMSX gearing!
