    356 Chasing a 2.4E and holding it's own well!!!

I am really starting to get hooked on Youtube. Great video vlips of everything from 60's music to vintage Porsche Racing

Here is a clip from some of our brethren down under in a 356 giving chase to a 2.4E during a rallye in Adelaide 2005

The 2.4E couldn't seem to get rid of the 356 in the straight aways, and couldn't keep up with him in the twisties....
Maybe it was the drivers, or maybe it was what was under the hood of the 356, but the 356 seemed to be the car having all the fun....

    Even Better.
The same boys in a 356 giving chase to a Dino, while listening to AC/DC's "Back in Black"
Not many things (automotive anyway) prettier than the ass end of a Dino.
Could it get much better than this!?

    Guys

The Classic Adelaide is a tarmac rally run in mid November each year in Adelaide the capital of the state of South Australia.

Having grown up in Adelaide I can say it has some absolutely great driving roads, even better when you get to use both lanes!!! I'm pretty sure the first video shows a stage that ends at Coromandel Valley and has lots of fun tight corners.

There are several different categories of entry, such as competition, regularity and tour.

There are quite a few of us from the Australian TYP 901 Register heading to the event and I believe Porsche is the featured marque for this year.

Follow this link to view the web site for the event:

    356's Vs. 911's

At last years Historic Races at Portland International Raceway the 356's and early 911's were lumped in together in the same class. The race was run during a light mist. Before the race the 356 guys were complaining that they were at a disadvantage. After the race they were complaining that the 911's were like a moving chicane. In the right hands, on the right course, in the right conditions, 356's will out-perform 911's. They're *great* momentum cars.

No bias - I like 'em both.

Possibly the 356 in the video is a 1500 Carrera GT twin cam? That would be hard to shake alright!

I am sure the SC drivers were just crapping themselves watching you pull them in the straights, out brake them and out corner them. NASTY!!!
