    1965 VIN "301712" car i Norway

I am checking with the owner if it has the original engine and what the original colour was. The pictures in the add is not to good but the car has correct dash and instruments, very little rust, but sc fenders, hood, bumpers and seats etc.

Is this a car that would be interesting to restore if the rust statement is correct? Is car number 301712 mid 1965?

I think it's definitely interesting to restore the car because it's an early to mid '65 model.

But I think the price is rather high if you want to restore it to it's original state because you have to look for the correct bumpers, fenders, hood, deck lid, interior, wheels, mirror, door panels etc.
    All parts that aren't cheap.

Does it have it's original engine and gearbox? The engine picture is a bit small but I can't see the Solex fuel pump.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

    Regards, Semjon

The add states a 2.4 litre engine with 175 HP and Getrag transmission. Was there ever a carburetted engine with 175 HP? Getrag transmission most likely mean 901.

A US import. Check the workmanship regarding the modified rear fenders.

No. The only 2.4 engine that came with carb's was the 2.4T (ex-USA) which the factory stats show delivered 130hp. Besides, the car for sale in the ad is suppossed to be a 1965, and the only production 911 engine made that year was a Solex carb'd 130 hp standard 6 cylinder motor.
Maybe I am missing something here, but I had a chance to look at the pictures of the car by clicking onto the link, and that car is a LONG LONG LONG way from being brought back to original spec (assuming the original engine were still with the car). If I have not misread the ad which states that the seller is looking for Euro$99,000, then this ad is a joke, unless the seller plans to sit on that car until Norway declares all early 911's national treasures.
Seriously, the amount of money needed to put that car back to original would be ridiculously high, and one would be better off going to the USA and finding a more original one for 1/10 the price, and restoring that.

99,000 Norwegian Kroner is about $16,000 USD.

Which is about $13,000 too high for this car as a restoration project. What, besides the gauges, the dash and the tub, is original about it?

Garth, he's asking kr. 99,999 which is roughly 16,000 US. Still you're right it needs a ton of work

    Hi

The original engine is long lost, I checked with the owner. I guess this Porsche will never get restored then.

And some of you is correct, it is Norwegian kroner and not euro. There is 6 kroner to 1 dollar. Norway is not a member of the EU. Even some member states are not using euro, like Denmark and Sweden witch are using kroner also.(Swedish kroner and Danish kroner)
