Very cool 901 shift knob alternative

After cracking two (yes two) original 901 shift knobs (dont ask) I was looking on Ebay for an alternative. I saw someone selling an aluminum version that really intrigued me, so I searched via Google and found the company Accutronix. It seems that they are a Harley company and they made up this 901 knob as a favor for a friend. They dont market the knob on the website (or anywhere for that matter).
The knob is excellent. Except for not having the glass lense on top, it is identical to the original in feel and appearance. I am really happy with it - a bit pricey at $70, but well worth it!
I willl try to get a pic of it installed later this w-e.

Very cool! Nice that they have set screws too. May have to consider that to replace the Momo I have that isn't period enough looking.

They are cool looking, but they don't feel right in metal. They transfer heat/cold too much for my liking.

Those are cool, Dave. Did you get the 8-ball design?

I'll bet it was the one with flames. If not then it should go in the VW for sure.

Set screws are a poor way to hold these on. They will keep coming loose as they dig into the lever arm. I would use the sleeve that holds the original knob on.

Set screws are ranked really low as a way of attaching items to a shaft reliably.

Yeah, set screws suck. I had one for my bimmer that was held on w/ set screws and they kept backing off until I used loctite.

My 88 Targa has a round unmarked chrome steel ball for a shift knob. It is ugly. It is cold as cold can be in the winter, extremely uncomfortable and not fun. I cover it with a sock in winter. Don't be me.
