    Question Original 70-71 undercoating?

What if any factory undercoating was on the original aluminum license plate panel for the 70S? Anyone with an original 70S care to feel under their panel?
I know the bumpers had undercoating.

I'm looking at an aluminum panel that is being reported to be totally original.

My passenger side bumper is original to the car with the undercoating. My driver's side bumper, engine lid and the license plate panel had been replaced with steel before the repaint in black around 74/75 time frame. I've found an aluminum deck lid and am still searching for an original license plate panel. I'm kind of hung up on finding an original one. The repros I've had my hands on haven't impressed me at all. Am I being to anal about this?

Thanks Joe. I'd searched here and Pelican but, couldn't find any references to it. I knew there are several out there who have totally original Esses and Es with the panel. I also tried looking at the pics of the 700 mile Silver S that are out there but, couldn't tell from that either.

Interesting that they didn't just shoot it too. Anyone know if the same holds true for the steel license plate panels? Calling those "all original, low milage owners". Maybe the fit was to tight with the muffler?

No undercoating on my 71E targa. Bought it from the second owner (he bought it in 72). It was original paint.
