    Engine lids for 72S?

Does anybody know if the engine lids used on the 72S are any different than the ones used through 69-73 stock ones and are there any differences on the 74 and up ones. Thanks, -Scott

All steel engine lids from '69-'73 are interchangeable (as are the aluminium ones too).

'74-on lids don't have the rectangular cut-outs for the license plate lights - but the recesses are there so it's relatively easy to cut them out.

    Andy -

While you guys are talking deck llids, what about a 1967 decklid on a 1970. I know the grill is different, but will the decklid fit the contours of the body?

Hi Jim - yes, all engine lids from '65 to '89 will fit.

    Here's a (carbon fibre) swb lid on my 911R-inspired '72 911:
