    Best strut brace?

Anybody got an opinion on who makes the best strut brace? Are these hard to install? Are they worth the money? Is a three point brace worth the extra money compared to the two point brace? Are there other low cost modifications I can make to my front suspension that will improve cornering? Thanks.

How do you intend to drive the car?

Are you going to race/autocross or just fun on back country roads?

Strut bars do make a difference when the car is placed under stress, but it takes a lot more than just average fun to flex the body to the point where a strut bar has any effect.

IMO---in many cases, a strut bar is money wasted.

A strut bar will help in racing or autocross, but probably not under normal street driving conditions. The two point brace gives you a structural quadrilateral, not good. With tube frame structure, you need triangles. So the three point is better.

Here is the strut brace we make, it makes a noticeable difference in most situations and speeds, even entering a drive way. I believe someone in the US was making a similar unit in the early 90's, don't know if they are still available. One comment we have had is it makes a Targa feel like a Coupe.

Pulling into the driveway? Sometimes when I hit a bump in the road the front will shudder for a second or two. Will it fix this?

Don, your problem will not be related to chassis flex, rather an issue with one or more worn component, such as a ball joint, or a tie-rod end. Start by checking those first. How are your shockers and bushes?

I had new shocks/struts (Boge) all the way around. I had new turbo tie rods and ends put on about a year ago. Maybe I should try new A-arm bushings.

    Cambermeister on '68 911

Does anyone know why the Weltmeister Cambermeister strut brace won't work on a '68 911? It shows to fit '69 through '89 cars, but PET shows the upper mount with part number 901.341.018.01 to be the same for '68 and '69.

I tried e-mailing Weltmeister, but haven't heard back from them.

Triangulation is the way to go. Check out the Elephant Racing brace as well.

I am going to replace the Boge shocks with Koni. If it does not work, I will try something else.
