Does anyone know where I can find the oval head chrome seat back machine screws for the driver/pass seats? I am missing one and have one that is stripped. Any help would be appreciated.

I thought I saw those in the Performance catalog that just arrived. Don't hold me to it, though.

Thanks, Scott. I don't think Performance has them. I have searched the catalog pretty thoroughly and have not seen them.
They are in my Mid America Motorworks catalog 1-800-500-1500
Described as"65-73 Screw Set Seat back pivot, 4 pc 408-245 $3.99 a set"

I got mine at Lowe's, in the metric hardware department. But mine went on a 73, so all I had to do was paint them black to match the seat frames. If you need chrome, that's a differnt story.

Are these seat screws from MA, item 408-245, size M8 or M6?
Thanks,
Cees
Got the answer from MA works, their screws are M6....mmm, I need M8's....
not to hijack, here, but I need some similar help. One of my seat back screws spins and spins, the threads are stripped. what is the easiest fix? is there a heli-coil type repair that should be done?
seats in question are sport seats, 1969 vintage.
thanks

When I fixed my seat back on my 69 non-sport seats, the nut had broken loose from the nut plate. Since I'm not a "concours" type, I just pulled back the seat cover, made a hole in the fabric underneath, and put some pliers on it to get the nut off, and replaced it with a new nut. Worked fine. Depends on what level of "fix" you need to go to.Originally Posted by sonett43

To repair mine, I obtained some metric nut inserts from McMaster-Carr.
The insert required a slightly larger hole than the stripped out one, so it was an easy fix. For the screws, I purchased some SS oval head screws from a local metric hardware house. One of these days I will polish the heads ...
