Hi Chuck
History of DDK or History of Northern Event?
DDK … the club was set up about 3 years ago by Bootsy & Miggs (user names) with quite a few of us who had all been part of an early 911 mail group. I'm 'hot66' on the DDK forum.
Currently I think we have about 300 paid up members & over 1000 regestered forum users.
The club is basically for all fans of pre 74 Porsches incl 911’s, 912’s 914’s & 356’s and this also includes Porsche replicas like the 356 speedster reps.
It is a really great group of people who love driving their Porsches. We have some national get togethers like this Northern Event & travel to European events like Classic LeMans ( over 40 cars for that trip ). Monthly there are local meets too. We also have some stunning cars in the club too
The Northern Event, I organised the 1st one in 2005. The plan was to get some early Porsches up to North Yorkshire where we have some superb driving roads, countryside and fantastic beer . 2005 was a great success so I organised this years along the same lines. I think the 2007 event will be moved up to Scotland & then maybe back to Yorkshire in 2008. We also have some plans for big European trips in 2007/8
Come & join us on the DDK forum, we already have quite a few from the USA who post.
BTW, that is a genuine road legal 2.8 RSR belonging to Lord Mexborough. We were very privileged to be able to view his car collection
FANTASTIC James!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the low down...
Will be checking into it after Monterey....
Cheers,
Chuck Miller

Beautiful country-side graced by magnificent machines. The fog shot was really good. Thanks for sharing your tours from 'the other side of the pond'.
