Fun Run Sept 24 to Gettysburg

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    EuroSport Tour – Sunday, Sept 24, 2006

The event is open to all European Sportscars of any vintage.

7:30am thru 8:15am - meet at Lotus of Washington (Criswell Automotive) in Gaithersburg, MD between the times of .

8:30am - Lotus Elise technical review while breakfast is served.

9:00am the group will head north on a spirited drive to wind up in historic Gettysburg, PA.

Along the way we will be making several pit stops to take in the splendor of everyone’s cars and the beautiful fall scenery. Cameras will be provided to allow you to use your creative talents to document this special occasion.

Once in Gettysburg, we will meet up at the Eisenhower Resort for lunch at their Richard’s Restaurant and Lounge. Afterwards, a bus tour of the Gettysburg battlefield is an option (paid for on site). Or simply hang out with fellow car enthusiasts and swap stories. The goal of the day is to enjoy everybody’s company and their cars.

Even the must dedicated single marquee enthusiast has their moments of wanting to be around other cars. Absolutely!! Automotive passions just run deeper than a single marquee or even a single nationality. Variety is the spice of life.

The EuroSport Tour was created with this thought in mind. Imagine driving through some of the most scenic roads in Maryland and Pennsylvania with such automotive delicacies as Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Alfa Romeos, Aston Martins and Lotus. Why not have a few beautiful Mercedes or vintage BMWs along as well. Why not indeed?

There is NO EVENT REGISTRATION COST. Such an occasion should be about fellowship and not money. All event expenses will be paid by the participant as we go. We estimate that lunch will be around $18 a head. The bus tour will be around $26 a head and is optional. Despite these costs, the event is free. If one only wants to make the drive up and hang out, then this is fine by us and we would love to have you. For people wanting to have lunch with us, please send an email to lamboeast@yahoo.com to let us know you want to eat lunch. This will help us in organizing the event.

If you have any questions, please call Kevin Sims at 703-586-5136.

We hope to see you on September the 24th. Let’s do our best to beautify the roads leading to Gettysburg, PA.

That is Kevin's username on a local Northern Virginia/ Maryland / DC Porschephiles site. I haven't gone on any fun runs with them as I am new to the group myself, but I've there are pictures of some that have been held locally (one was to a wedding where they had a dozen or so cars.)

I know three other guys that are bringing their cars, a ferrari Dino and a '62 mini as well as another Porsche that will be along on this one.
