    Monterey Blackhawk RS Sale

    Did anyone get a chance to see the RS Lightweight that was sold at the Montery Blackhawk sale? By the time I stopped by on Saturday the new buyer had already removed it.

    Yeah I missed it also. Here is a link to the car on their site.

    Not all that exciting but it may be a nice car. What was their asking price? Thanks.

    $200k+++

    Must have been a fairly nice example. Smith said it sold for over $200K.

    Nice real lightweights are hard to find these days.

    I called Blackhawk last week and they were quoting an asking price of $300,000.

    Anyone know where it went?

    This is one of the best I've seen. It's really nice and a documented lightweight. It's got all of it's goods and provenance.

    Tom,

    That is the best condition RS (M471 or M472) I have ever seen in person. (Note; I didn't see the orange RSR at Santa Rosa in person )

    I crawled all over that yellow car at Rennsport. That is probably a $300K (or more) car in today's market.

    So what's the deal with the Blackhawk collection? Is it a privately owned venture they profit from through charging admission in Las Vegas - and sell the occasional car when they find someone willing to pay big bucks??

    I went through their Monterey display on Thursday and did not see the white RSL there.

    I have very detailed pictures of the car including all the "important" stuff.
    47,000 KM's (29,000 miles) Very original. Glaverbel, no undercoating anywhere, the "right" VIN plate , all numbers good on engine, transmission and body. No signs of any damage nor any signs of repair. It's real.
    Still had a Lufthansa hang tag on the mirror as it was originally air shipped.

    Best,
