    Weltmeister Decals

    Guys,

    Anyone have a '71 car with the Decal on the rear 1/4 window and not the front windscreen?

    The Brian Long book (Porsche 911 63-71 A Definative History) shows a couple of photos of '71 models with the sticker on the 1/4 window and not the front screen which is where I want to put mine but want to check with the gurus 1st

    Cam,
    My 71E has the decal on the front wind screen. There was a thread here a month or so ago that stated which decals were used by year and where they were put. Can anyone retrieve it? I recall the placement info was stated as approximate by month of production etc...

    I've seen the info on the homepage but there seems to be some variations to that judging by a few pirctures in various book etc. My car was built in July '71.

    Leon I haven't been able to find the thread that gave any more information than the home page......

    Any more '71 owners want to add their two cents worth on this one? Platas what month was your car built?

    Another Sticker Question

    Not to hijack this thread, but since we're on the subject I just wanted to make sure I am reading this correctly.

    According to this site's Weltmeister section, a 1972 car should have the sticker that lists Porsche as the champion only up through 1970. Is this correct?

    Shouldn't a 1972 have the sticker that lists Porshce as the champion through 1971, or is it a matter of a car's place in the production run?

    My car, built in June '72, has the '69, '70, '71 championship sticker.

    Also note that some original stickers have blue lettering, not gold.
