Freight company from CA to KY

Can anyone recommend a carrier? I bought an engine in Hayward CA, need it shipped back to KY. Contacted the big commercial carriers already. I can ship a car for what they quoted. Just shopping prices. Thanks-Bill Woods

I have shipped alot of stuff starting with FreightQuote.com. So much easier to do it over the phone an explain the situation to them. Have used Roadway quite a bit thru them to ship parts out east...

Forward air is the only reasonably priced shipper that I know of.

I just shipped a 57 Chevy Truck from San Fran to Orlando. I used Dependable Auto Shippers. If dependable means it arrives then yes they are, but if it means delivered when it is quoted then they are not. My truck didn't leave until the day it was supposed to arrive. So it sat at the starting terminal for 3 weeks. Total shipping time 29 days. It had some kind of unidentifiable oil/grease on half the hood and down the side. Good thing I had decided to repaint anyhow.

    Rick,
How bout posting some pic's of the new rig under the show your ride section? Some of us enjoy the early American long hoods as well Besides, I have never seen a 50's pick-up truck in tangerine before - although I hear chicks dig em'.

This one is very solid and is quieter than my Lexus and Mercedes SUVs, but needs a restoration. This is the sellers photo since we are under mother natures attack I'll try to get a better one.
