    "Son of Sam" 67S Done!

Some of you will remember my post 18 months ago about finding a 67S survivor (named after SWBSam's Polo Red 67S): Son of Sam

Despite my initial thoughts of keeping it as I bought it, one thing lead to another and another and now it's done!

Thanks to Rod & Gary Emory and the entire crew at Emory Motorsports/Parts Obsolete that handled the restoration including motor & tranny rebuilds, paint, etc. And a special thanks to a secret Registery member who sourced a set of original sport seats (name withheld to minimize solicitations, he is welcome to identify himself). I decided to run deep 6's as drivers, I will keep the restored 4.5's for...

Full photo documentation can be found here: 67S Restoration

Kinda off thread, but I'm curious (for personal reasons) - does the car smoke at all on startup? What about after having run and then sat for a few minutes? I ask as I have recently had my 2.4 mfi rebult and it still smokes

    Thanks, David

    HI Mark,
Congrat's. Beautiful car and very nice resto. It sure does help that you started with a good car. Seeing how nice the body was after stripping the paint must have made you feel good . Now don't be scared to drive the **** out if it

I guess if this is normal I shouldn't worry about it. But if everyone thinks a good rebuild shouldn't smoke at startup, then I was going to have a conversation with the engine builder.

As to amount of smoke, my wife prefers that I puch the car out of the garage before starting because of the cloud it generates upon startup.

    Are they ever really "done"?

    That's a beautiful job. Congratulations!
