Year/Model of 911 in the movie "Failure to Launch"?

    Hi..

Just got done watching the movie "Failure to Launch" with my wife on Pay-per-view. The main character, Mathew McConnelley, owns (or maybe his parents own) a nice dark blue 911 that is a long-nose (ie 67 to 73) with Silver Fuchs. My wife really likes this car, so it is helping my case to get a Porsche, and particularly more details on this one. Can anyone tell what exact year or model it is from watching the movie? And what color is that exactly on the exterior (couldn't even tell what the interior was..)

I saw the movie about two months ago. I thought the color was Irish Green ?? I t looked like a short wheel base maybe 66-68 ?? I'd have to see the movie again to zoom in etc......

Just saw it on a plane, its a short wheelbase and I think it was greeen (not great quality on airplane screens). It seemed to have the wrong foglights installed (73 on) and a Bursch looking exhaust.

Pretty cool nonetheless and looked much better than Redfords car on whatever you called that movie with Brad Pitt (Spy Games?).

It is a mish mash car. I tortured my wife when she brought the movie home on DVD by micro analyzing the car before we finished watching it. I seem to recall the seats were lowbacks, but the door handles are from a '69. It had a number of inconsistencies that make it hard to place. I seem to recall that it had some chrome blacked out, like the horn grills, which is obviously wrong. I guess I will have to look again.

studio rental cars are not always the best and of course studios love low back seats and often take out the headrests for shoots. did not see the movie but no one probably bothered to buckle up either.

    A SWB with 69 doorhandles is a 68 (or it could be a 65-67 with 69 handles)

watched the movie last night for the first time (wife's second time) she could not believe I wanted to see it. Hey there is a porsche like mine in it! she didn't even notice

any way it is a LWB car, likely a 73 with an incorrect later mirror and fogs. wing windows are fixed and headrests removed from std. seats. black engine grill and horn grills with 72/73 S spoiler. Irish green with nice fuchs, hard to tell if they were correct flats or earlier deeps.

    My observations any way.
