Is the dealer that sells the car a well known and serious dealer? Why is the price "below" what we have seen recently? I can see the window trim is black but that cant be a major fix. Bye the way has not this car been for sale for quite a while?

I don't know the dealer but having a quick look through some of the cars for sale indicates that many of them have incorrectly-detailed parts.

Without the VIN of this RS it is not possible to know what its original specification was but it's almost certainly a Touring (M472) model.

Some of the details which would need addressing to command a higher price:

    Incorrect:

black trim (difficult/expensive to find correct replacements in excellent condition)

    seats

    steering wheel

    speedo (it's a '74-on version)

    wheel finish

    headlamps (rims)

finish on some engine components (fan, etc)

colour ? (looks to be too bright/orangey for India Red)

    Missing:

    all Touring trim

    - all of these items would add significantly to the cost.

Just curious, under the missing items, what would be the price to be paid, a fair price?

    speedo (it's a '74-on version)

    Note from Andy - speedo (it's a '74-on version)

Anyone have a photo of what the correct 73 speedo looks like?

    Thanks

Up until Mar 1973 the RS used the same 150mph/250kph (depending on market) speedo as used in the '73 T/E/S models.

From Mar '73 - on they used a 180mph or 300 kph speedo as below:

That's a fair price for that car in my opinion......

I know the dealer and I've inspected this car, it's definitely not an RS I'd want. He (of course) described it as good, nice etc. but....

Sorry for not being able to be more positive about this RS, but for me (with pretty high quality standards and expectations) it was more or less a disappointment.

    Mike,

I would like to add these photos to my data base of '73 Carreras. Do you know what chassis # this car is? Is the motor original to the car? Thanks much.

    Hi Brian

No, can't help you with VIN, engine number and type etc. I've thrown it all away after my visit.... But contact him directly, I'm sure you'll get all the numbers etc.

    Cheers,
    Mike
