I'm glad all you guys got yours ... I wrote an article yet my copy was conspicuously absent from my mail box.

Problem was rectified **grumble** at the GAF. I can only hope that the club's dues issues - i.e. notification that membership is going to expire - are resolved quickly.

I don't believe that something printed on the back of a newsletter is an effective way of notifying members that their dues are due ... especially if the newsletter never arrives.

Unfortunately, I do not have a solution to offer at this time. However, the squeaky wheel gets the grease ...

EDIT: Upon review I don't believe that my initial post reflected my intention to come up with a solution. I am trying to think of a solution; however, I don't have one ... YET.

My first idea involves some sort of e-mail notification process. Even if members only recieve one or two e-mail notifications, I'm of the opinion that it would make a good supplement to the existing method as opposed to having to rely solely on a club magazine that is so sporadic in its publication.

I still haven't received mine yet, and I know that I am up to date on my dues. I assume I should have gotten it by now?

    Bill, Marco, and all

Any problems or suggestions about membership renewal dates should go to Fred Trueman our date base guy....

    fctruem@socal.rr.com (714) 848-6485

Fred does send e-mail and then snail-mail reminders to those who are due..

A lot of the confusion comes from how late we were publishing the ESSES...

Some of our communication goes from quarter to quarter, ESSES to ESSES, and when we're late, or REAL late, part of the system comes off it's wheels...

We apologize for our lateness and some of the confusion...

Thanks for your patents and support,

    Member Since Jan 20xx?

In reference to Marco's post above, about reminders of dues and notifications etc,
What about a field beside our handle (such as location and name etc) with membership # and something like "member since Sep 2004" or something?

Like Amex did .. member since 1971 or member since 1999 etc etc.

If it was a fixed field, would it not make it easier for Fred to cull or search postings or database because by searching this one field, he would have at the very least, each member's month of renewal?
