Going back to MFI.. how do I clean the TBs?

My 73S targa has been undergoing "rustoration" on and off over the past three years. During that time I developed a good relationship with my restorer. He came across a neglected 914-6 conversion that had a sportmatic 2.4S engine with MFI (013 pump) and promised me that if he ever parted out the car, I would have first shot at the MFI. Well, after 6 months of convincing him that I really needed it, I bought it yesterday. Everything looks good, but it could use a good cleaning. I read numerous articles on Pelican on how to store the MFI pump, but are there any special instructions with regards to the throttle bodies? Some mention dunking them in Berryman Chem-dip. Will that affect the butterfly valve bearings? Short of sending them to Eurometrix, what would ya'll suggest?

    Thanks!

Pacific Injection or Eurometrix. I wouldn't trust a pump that wasn't 100% nor would I trust old throttle bodies. Dunking it in a solution sounds easy but will you really trust the results?
Do it right once and you should never have to look back over your shoulder.

Everything I know about soaking them in B12, and what to do when they are done, is here:

After you get them clean, if you don't intend to use them, IMMERSE them in marvel mystery oil. I mean, pickle them: put them in some kind of a container and pour the MMO over the top and seal it and do NOT accidentally throw it away. If you keep air or corrosive substances away from the magnesium they will be preserved until you are ready.

Then again if water were money I would pour it in, but you shouldn't need a rebuild unless you can see daylight around the butterflies when you hold them up to a light.
