    2.2S P/C's

    Hello Kenik,

I am waiting for a price quote on a very good Mahle set with very little use from a former Porsche dealer. If they are more than I want to spend I'll pass them over to you.

Also, I am bidding on a set of NOS 2.2S pistons on ebay, you may want them more than I.

    All the best,
    Ana

Gah, you just reminded me that I owe you some pics! Thanks for the heads up on the Ebay pistons. If I decide to bid, I will let you know so we can talk first.

My ‘69S heads were apparently recontoured by a PO for 84mm 2.2S P/Cs. They weren’t just chamfered for the larger pistons, but had the dome itself machined flatter, like the later heads. Thus my current 2.0S P/Cs won’t work, even with adapter rings due to the low resultant CR. The solution appears to be locating a nice used (and preferably cheap) set of 2.2S P/Cs, then having the valve pockets on the pistons recut for the 2.0 head valve angle.

If anyone has a set languishing on a shelf, let me know.

Kenik, I have nice 2.2S pistons, probably have some core cylinders. But I know the pistons are there and good, at least! Let me know if you don't get a better offer and want me to look further into it...Thanks, Scott

Cool! Scott and I just agreed to terms on the pistons, but I still need a nice set of Biral 2.2 cylinders. Now I am really bummed as I sold a set 6 months ago.

    Heads fixed.

Kenik; Are the heads you have 1969 2.0S heads? If so and you want them back to 2.0 specs they can be welded and remachined. If you want/need 2.2 heads I should have some of those as well. Let me know what you want to do. Thanks Eric
