    9-11 and 911?

Is there any connection b/t Sept. 11 and the 911? Is it pure chance? Or does it mean something?

I will say that mentioning the word 911 in any form has a seperate meaning. This is my generations Pearl Harbor, Kennedy, etc. I can vividly remember every single part of that day.

sophomore year of college. I thought it was a joke on a radio program on my alarm clock getting up for class. Walked to class (Spanish 112). They Had it up on the big movie screens in every class. Classes were dismissed and all we did was watch tv. Then spent the next hour trying to call my mom who I knew was flying for business, but I didnt know when or from where. All lines were busy even in central Ohio. I really hope I never forget that day

(hopefully that didnt make you other guys feel too old)

I dont know if you serious with this question..but the car was first development-number Porsche 901, was becoming type 911 in 1964 after french carmaker Peugeot did have a copyright for numbering his cars with triple numbers involving a zero in the middle....and in Europe, we count the days before its month which makes it: 11-9

Any idea why the 904 wasn't affected by this?

    Hi,

Peugeot has got this copyright only for regular cars. The 904 is a race car (not only but)

...despite that, Porsche was keeping its original 901 code developing number for 911's gearboxes up to approx.1969.....

The only connection I see is that I'm going out to drive my 911 on 9/11.
Spare engine is in and ready for test drive. This will be the first drive in
    19 years, for this '72!

Cool beans man. That's a great idea. I think I'll take my 911 out for a spin on 9/11 as well.
