    PMO's vs. Webers

My '67 has the original 2.0 case rebuilt to 2.7 specs. It currently has Weber 40's installed that a previous owner says were built to 42 specs. I've been interested in PMO's for a long time and have started considering installing them on this car.

There are a number of positive testimonials on the PMO site from some familiar names that make a pretty convincing case for the superiority of PMO's over Webers. I'm interested in hearing about the experience others here have had with PMO's as opposed to Webers. (I searched here and at Peilican and couldn't find much).

This car is for street and light track use.

    Thanks,
    John Audette

The are quite a few design improvements the Richard incorporated in to his carbs over the webers. However if your car is running well with the webers I would leave it alone.

Most of the improvements contained by the PMOs can be retrofitted to Webers, as well. I am not sure if it is cost effective though, since it requires extensive machine work.

I recently had an interesting conversation with RPMClassic regarding PMOs, I suggest that you email or PM him.

I have had no troubles at all with my PMO's on my RSR. Easy to adjust, just a great set up. I have over 4,500 miles on them, love them.

Hello: If the Webers are working fine then leave them alone. If they are giving you problems clean them and run them. The PMO carbs are fine carbs as well just the jetting is different then the Webers. If you know the Weber carbs and can tune them then the PMO carbs will take time to learn them. I like both carbs but it will take some time to set up the PMO's. If you need the 50mm carbs get the PMO's. Hope this helps. Thanks Eric
