    spark plugs: replace or clean?

I think I have at least one fouled spark plug. Is it possible to fix this by
removing the plug and just cleaning it?

Yup; if they aren't old, just clean them up.

I agree with Kenikh. But I have had a couple of instances where it was gas fouled and caused a miss. You may have a bad wire or if running carbs a air correction nozzle plugged or if it's two plugs next to each other then an incorrect float, either sinking or not adjusted. Basically you need to track down the cause of the fouling.

I tried to clean them but was unhappy with the result. I was able to get 6 new plugs from Pep Boys for about 6 dollars!

I went to order spark plugs for my '72 car yesterday. I was advised they were $13.85 each. Some special plug was needed??!!

When they cross referenced it to a NGK, there was a plug for a couple of bucks.

What plugs do people use? My car is 72 2.4E (mechanical fuel injection)

Also, was also quoted $60 for a fuel filter! Is this correct?

    Thanks
    Derek
