    74 euro carrera duck tail

first off: thanks to the guy's who supplied the info on my previous post!

second: can anyone tell me what insignia should be on a 74 euro carrera duck tail???????

is it a small metal "carrera" in the center of the tail or does it get a
"carrera rs" decal off to the upper right of the tail????

    a photo would be great!

    thanks in advance,
    rennmeister

This is a factory ROW '74 tail. I'm not sure if the Euro MFI is different.

The Carrera script on the red ducktail is the larger '84-'89 Carrera script.

The '74-'77 script (pn 91155931701) is smaller.

    tahnks guy's

i thought the "smaller" carrera was correct but wanted to get some feed back.

i love that color of blue what is it called "riveria blue"??

any ideas as to what a really nice numbers matching orig. car would bring?
it's light yellow w/blue black, total mechanical rebuild with new p&c, carrillo rods, new valves etc. no money spared! gearbox fresh also, just a really nice no B.S. car.

    i'll post some pictures soon!

i noticed something else on the blue car.
is the rubber strip on the rear bumper supposed to have a small red reflector or is it supposed to be soild black, as the blue car is?
the front bumper has a rubber strip where the us get's the marker lights.

I wondered about that also Carl, but I know this tail came from a '74 Carrera
in Canada. Maybe the PO had to replace the script.
Anyway, it's garage art, for now.

Solid black. Only RoW Turbos had the red reflectors built into the strips.

It's probably Mexico blue. I think the Riveria named blue was a 993 color. Were they the same color code, just with different names?

Prices were recently discussed on Pelican:

    ducktail script

I have not seen a factory stock 1974 ducktail that had the metal script. They have all had the decal. It was the 1975 whaletail that had the small metal carrera script. The only Carrera that had the RS as part of the decal was the 1973 RS and it was mounted on the wing as opposed to being on the lid.

Mmmmmm... good point Lee. I've seen both.

Here's a shot (of a US Carrera) I took at RRII showing the sticker version:
