I have black windshield trim on my 73.5. Should it be silver?

I'll second that, the only thing the should be black is the grill cover and rear deck letters, they might fade to grey over time.

The letters on the deck lid are black too? I've seen a lot of 73's with silver.

Mike, my deck lid letters looked silver, but when I took them off for the car's repainting they were black underneath. As Phil said, just 30+ years of fading I guess.

Well let me just say this, there are not many absolutes when it comes to these cars. My 73 1/2 has a black deck grille and letters all the rest of trim is chrome, including horn grills which I know are not correct but they sure look nice.
