    FS: Cibies very good cond.

These Cibies have unrestored chrome rings in very good condition, inside of rings have been treated to prevent rust. Buckets have been glass blasted to bear metal, treated with POR-15 and Du Pont/Spies Hecker etch primer inside and the same primer outside. This primer is "water proof" unlike a lot of other primers that have to be painted over very soon after the primer has been applied. No dents in buckets. Reflectors unrestored in very good condition inside and outside as well as on the backside, no pitting on the reflectors. I think they might be pre 1970(se the add) One of the lenses have a small chip you can see in the picture marked with a red arrow. Adjuster screws and plastic pieces for the adjuster screws are very good. If you want more pictures I can send by email.

Not satisfied, send them back for full refund (not shipping)

    Only posted at Sreg.

    All, parts present.

950$+shipping (67$ to the US) or best offer.

    Thanks
    John

Geez John, between you and Oliver, we'll never be without Cibies. It must be nice living in Europe where they were actually sold, as opposed to the US where they weren't avaialable.

Well I suppose they are "easier" to get hold of, but the guys I know in Europe with a lot of contacts in the Porsche/Citroen collectors community tells me that most sources are drying up. I my selves go down to my fathers house every summer in the south of France and are always on the look for stuff. If somebody remembers my tread about this from this spring, I wanted to look for these lights this summer and I looked, long and hard driving around the scrap yards and Citroen/used car dealers, I did not even find a bulb cover! I have had three sets, first bought two, then one more set. I sold two but have kept one for my own car that I am preparing for installation(blasting and cad. plating parts, waiting for a cad. plating kit from Caswell Europe) I might get hold of some more, who knows. I will admit that the two pairs I sold financed half of my own set BUT if I count in the hours spent making the two sets I sold nice, I sell with a huge loss. Only reason I do this is that I find these light fascinating and I like to renovate them. Call me crazy if you like.

I think Oliver has much more experience with these lights than me and living in the hart of Europe he will probably be the man to contact if anyone needs to get hold of some good Cibies, but if I get by any I will let you know.

The problem with bidding on these (besides the fact that they are already at US$755 and counting), is that the pictures are small and too far away - almost like the seller is trying to hide the imperfections. In the pic#s posted, it is almost impossible to determine how good/bad the chrome rings are, or how rusty the pod outer rims are (they look rusty in the 2nd pic). If I were a buyer, I would need to see close up shots so I knew what I was getting - like the pic's that Zithlord took which were detailed and showed clearly that all the pieces were there and in good condition.
The yellow ones on Ebay are pot luck. For US$755, I would want to know what was coming in the mail from Frankfurt...
