Looks like somebody has "used" your add John, over on pelican, and with the same engine number as your son's car!!! Might just be a slip up by the other guy forgetting to change the engine number?

I notified Pelican. Whoever posted the ad obviously copied and pasted my ad. It is the engine number of my son's car. Hopefully whoever posted the other ad is just lazy and not dishonest and they're selling a real car. Might want to be careful.

I was all over the other ad on Pelican, but I knew I had read the ad somewhere else...but I couldn't find it....because I was looking for 70S ad. Now I remember.
I pointed out the engine # went to a 71S and got an email back saying it was posted incorrectly and would have the correct # shortly.
    John,
The car you have here truly seems to be a nice car and priced aggressively, but I think correctly for this market.
Am I the only one who has noticed the market softening? Judging by the silver 73S Targa for $65.9K recently brought to the boards attention, I think I might be...

    Market Softening?

The market might be softer right now, but it could be just the seasonal influence. Every year it seems like there are a *lot* more cars for sale in the Fall/Winter than in Spring/Summer. Not everyone lives in SoCal.

My son is getting a lot if inquiries about his car. But he tells me that everyone is concerned about the rust. Which is too bad because it's local to the bottom of two of the sunroof drains. Otherwise the car is pretty much rust-free. But rust is always scary. I suppose a little bit of rust is like a little bit of cancer.

    Market Softening...

...only until the Europeans begin planning for their spring thaw around March/April.

Then you can expect a new exodus of nice American cars heading to the continent/UK.

Whoever puts cars on the market around that time will start getting a lot of phone calls from guys with funny accents that are on "holiday" and looking for cars (plural) to bring home at a 33% discount to the Euro.

If current trends continue, it will likely be a 36% discount

Value added tax in Germany will be increasing from 16% to 19% on Jan 1st, so there may be a few purchases done before year end to avoid the extra 3%.
