    Fan shroud hardware question

    I am finishing up all the little pieces to make up a complete hardware kit for the 65-73 model fan shrouds. I just wanted to verify if all the fasteners are supposed to be yellow zinc. Specifically, the 6 M6 hex-head sheet metal screws that go on the front part of the shroud to hold the air ducts in place. These are seemingly unavailable, except in clear (silver) zinc and it looks like I will have to get them plated.

    It is also a bit unclear as to which rubber grommets, rubber plugs and plastic plugs went on the different years. The PET disc is not clear, the parts books are the same and I only have my '67 coupe to look at for accuracy.

    Any feedback on "correctness" would be greatly appreciated. We have standards to uphold!

    Is it "yellow zinc"?...or cadmium?

    These were originally yellow cadmium.

    If you are going to get them plated I would recommend yellow zinc. It is better for the environment, your own health, and lasts longer.

    That being said it looks slightly different but so be it.
