3 point seat belts on SWB car

These seat belts were on my 68 S when I got it, and even though they look original, and at least part of them are surely original, they seem strange, and I have no idea how to use them, there seems to be no way of joining the shoulder and lap pieces together.

Could they have been re-webbed incorrectly?

The buckle is on the inside and hooks to the eye fitting by the tunnel, the other belt is attached to 1) the rear side panel with the star screw[the piece that has the plastic cover], and 2) the eye fitting near the floor close to the side behind the seat. You pull this piece over your shoulder and accross your lap and snap it into the buckle and your set to go. You can adjust all three straps to get comfortable. By the way Stoddard has new sets for about $130 apiece.

Thanks Bill, I will give it a try (again). All of what you said is clear and makes tons of sense, my only problem is how to attach the shoulder strap to the small strap that attaches to the eye by the door, this is what I've been unable to manage.

I currently have a set of retractable belts that hook up to the same bolts and eye fittings as the originals, and I will stick to those for everyday use (for safety mainly), but I sometimes show the car and like to show it as original as possible.
