Thread: Do you have 911R 7" on a shortwheel based car?

  1. #1

Do you have 911R 7" on a shortwheel based car?

Would you measure this on your car? Is this "X" measurement 8 3/4", 9", or larger. And, what spacer width are you running 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" or the factory 21mm?

We will be painting the 67 soon and I would like you to verify this measurement.

Tires will probably be 205's (as fewer tires are available in 215) and 225's will be trial fit.

Thanks, I would really appreciate the help.

    911R clearance

    Kenik and Bill, Thanks.

I would like to have a measurment target a little closer than my "yea by hoe". That spot on the fender about 8" from the bumper is the hot spot.

Am looking to get the clearance without going to a "R" Flair. I took SC flairs off this car.....and removed the 23mm offset 7" fuchs......shoot foot here.....x....

Bob, I run RS type 7" on a 68 with the stock spacer and 205 tires, and I've had 215 is the past. They fit very well, no need to roll the fenders. I will try and get a measurement, but it might have to wait for the weekend

My wife runs 7" R Fuchs on her 901 with original R spacer. Tyres 205/60/15 has enough grip to give nice inner front wheel lift of about 10 cm and has that nice original height. If measure is really important, let me know and IŽll get back.

    Bob-

On my '67S that measurement is 9". I run 205/50-15 tires on the standard 23mm offset 7x15" rims with rolled fender lips and no spacer. The measurement was made to the inside of the rolled fender lip (that point is where the rolling begins.) If the lip wasn't rolled, it would be 8-3/4" and I would probably have rubbing there. I've never used the R-offset wheels.

    Tom, so cool. Thank you.

Lasse, yes pass along the spacer size you are using. Is that on Lotta's car? What a great guy you are to let her drive the 901....or is she a great gal to let you drive it?

Sorry for changing the topic but what would the market price be for two 7R wheels these days? Did the R run the 7R's in the back and deep 6 in the front? Did they use the 7R on other factory setups?

    Hi Bob,
Yea, it is Lottas car. I have to cuddle her a lot to get keys! Spacers are 21 mm. Talking about "R" things, how many 911 R production cars are known in the US?
