    Signal green

I am close to making a final color selection for the repaint on my 67S. I am leaning toward Tangerine but am intriged by the Signal Green which would be correct for that year. Does anyone have photos of a car that is actually painted in that color? How about opinions? My original color was Sand Biege.

This is from the elferhelfer.com site. "signalgrün R6001" paint code 217. You will find pics of a Signal Green 69S at this site.

In the pic from the color catalog Signal Green looks much darker than it will appear on the car.

Are you kidding. Sand Beige is one of the coolest colors on a SWB car. Tangerine is a LWB color and looks about as correct as Guards Red on a SWB car to me. Don't get me wrong. I like Tangerine and the bright 70's colors but they don't look correct on a SWB car to me.

The SWB colors like Sand Beige, Seafoam Green and Slate Grey are classic and look beautiful! I want a SWB car just so I can have a car in one of these colors and I'm not too fond about painting a LWB car in a period incorrect color.

I know of a low mileage Sand Beige 67S that just sits in a garage. It gets started about once a year. I've been pursuing the owner for over 5 years. Eventually the time will come. He has the condo that the car is at on the market. His son wants the car but doesn't really "get it" when it comes to early Porsches.

    Bobby,
Thanks for your input. My car had been repainted root beer brown sometime, I'm guessing, back in the 80's. As hard as I've tried I can't convince myself to repaint it back to it's original Sand Biege, even though I know that it's the right thing to do. Tangerine and Signal Green are both correct for that year. By the way the interior was also Biege!

    John,

While I may love Sand Beige you don't, and it's your car, so you should paint it what ever color makes you happy. Whatever color you go with I'm sure the car will look great. Be sure to post pictures of the process. We all enjoy to vicariously go through the process.

    Frank,
That is an amazing display! You have them in all of the flavors! Unfortunatly, the full body shots of your Signal Green 69S are all fragged out but I get the picture. Thanks for your response.
