Willow Springs STS November 4th or 5th/BOTH

I know that there is a sticky, I know that there is a link on the homepage, HOWEVER, WHO is going, what day??

I spoke with John D., regarding siging up. I will be attending November 5th. I will probably be spending the night out there Saturday (roommate needed?)

John has put in ALOT of effort/work into this event, working with the POC to allow us there. Lets support him. This is a chance to learn more about the cars we have built, in a safe, controlled, environment.

Even if you plan on being there for support in the pits/garage, be there

    I'll be there both days.

Three members of the Early S board there would be two more than attended in September.

But I'll be running my 914/3.2, not my 911E.

I'll be pitting up near the top of the pit lane. Just look for Otto's beat-to-crap van and awning.

Hey, Chuck, do you run Orange Group or Red?

And if we have enough S-Registry/R Gruppe participation maybe also in a group of our own...

BTW - Still never driven the 'bowl'

I doubt the POC will allow a 6th run group which would cut everyone's overall track time. Not to mention the complications of who has a STS license, who doesn't, who has to run with an instructor, blah, blah, blah.

The most important thing for anyone signing up is that if they aren't a POC member with a valid POC Short Track License, YOU MUST contact the POC head driving instructor Marty Mehtarian to discuss your experience level. His contact info is available through the POC website.

The bowl is FUN. Much more challenging counter-clockwise because it's a decreasing radius turn. Running clockwise, the bowl isn't nearly as challenging as hitting the chicane running downhill. Talk about tightening your spinchter! You'll easily be into triple figures when you hit the braking zone!

    See you there!

Given what Sandy has said, I will come out to support the efforts by the R Gruppe and Early S people, but I probably won't join POC just to make some laps. I have run the track before with the PCA Gran Prix region's "Day Away From Work Autocross." That's a real doable day with limited participation (maybe 80 cars). Didn't run the bowl, though.

Milt, I am glad to read that you will be coming out on Sunday. I hope to see others there also.

I just signed up on line for Sunday only. I spoke with Marty M., he is expecting me in the student class.
A head count so far that I know besides myself, John D., Chuck M., Lars W., SandyI. Who did I leave out??? Will S., Marco G.,?????

It is true that you have to be a member to run with the POC. $75.00 a year.
I plan on doing a few more events this coming year. An incentive to get my money's worth.
