Looks like a car I wont but cant afford! What is the strange rpm clock? and is the engine bay supposed to be black or the cars colour in 67?

I am not saying I don't like the car. It's very nice lookin g and is very similar to what I did with my 67 normale. But is it a true 911S? He does not show any pic's of the VIN plate, and the VIN number he gives does not have an S at the end of it, or is that implied?
Also, is it possible to get 190hp out of a 2.0 liter without twin plugging it? He provides no compression ratios on the JE pistons for the rebuild, but the original 2.0S compression ratios were 9.8:1, and that motor produced 160hp. To reach 190hp, you have to go into high 10:1 land to obtain that kind of hp - and would need to twin plug (and this car is only single plugged) , or increase the bore substantially to get 30 more hp. He doesn't mention either.
Again, I really like the look of the car, but the seller provides no real info or confirmation that the car is a true S.
My instincts tell me there is more to be gleaned before a smart buyer puts together the funds on this car.

The insightful (and tactfully written) comments above are precisely why I enjoy putting these cars up for view. I always learn something.

The guys VIN is incorrect. I assume it shoud be 306178S instead of the as listed 3061785.

They might get 190HP with the Carrera 6 cams. But then it will need better breathing in the rest of the intake as well as the heads ported and flowed. And the stock valves might be too small too.

Yes - Under the trunk and engine compartment should be black.

190 HP is TOUGH to get without serious work, especially with stock '67S heads. The valves are too small, as are the ports. The easiest way to get that magic 190HP without twin plugs would be with GE60 cams, '69S valves, ports opened between '69S and 906 specs and 46mm carbs. This doesn't sound like the work that has been done to this car.

I can't say that I know but there are links in the ad to the VINs on the car.

    The links to the VIN

are in the ad with links and as stated. See the pretty Ss? Speaking of which, does anyone have the definitive VIN range for '67Ss? I the books I've got, it is very confusing? Do the "Normal" and "S" VIN numbers overlap? That is is the same range 305101-308522(or3) used for both with only an S added to some of the Chassis? Was there, say, BOTH a 305101 AND a 305101S? Then, coincidentally it looks like the same number S and Normal Coupes were made-Dont' believe that. Help! Thanks.
