    Bumper upright w/o rubber

Can anyone tell me why one couldn't drill one of these plain uprights and add the rubber? Are these uprights the same only without the holes for the rubbers?
Bob Tilton has one for sale and I have a spare rubber. Has anyone done this?
    Thanks

    Rich,

I plan on doing exactly what you've described with my 68. My main motivation was cost; Stoddard offers reproduction smooth bumper guards at ~$60 vs OEM bumpers guards with holes for $250. Paul at Stoddard also mentioned that a few other individuals have also performed the modification.

May your measurements be accurate and your drilling true! Best of luck.
