    Correct Carpet for a 71 S

Car is all ready for paint and during interm, looking at carpet replacement. Which is the correct carpet type? Perlon, felt, velour, german square weave? Seem like pelican sells them all for the year and model but doesn't indicate what is original. Thanks Allan

The S model was delivered with velour and some years this was also standard for the E model. I ordered mine from Autobahninteriors.com (Tony). The carpet is German quality and exact match of my original carpets. Tony shipped it straight over to me in Norway, no problems.

When I asked the same question at this board half a year ago most of the replies recomended Autobahn.

As you see i the pics the 33 year old original carpets get a ugly grey/greenish colour over the years.

So that's what velour looks like. I have the exact same carpets that came out of the car, so I guess they were original. Was just confused on what Velour, Perlon, and german weave looked like. My car also had mats that was from the same material and looked like it was made identically to the carpets. Was this a Porsche part? Thanks Allan
