    Deleted thread?

I hate seeing threads deleted. It's like revisionist history.

What happenend to the thread on the Autoflug harnesses? I believe Ray C. had a question and wanted to see some pics of the mounting of the auto reel section. I don't have any info on this as I haven't mounted mine yet.

Anyway RC. I sourced my 4pt. harnesses through EBay Germany. If you keep your eyes open you can find deals there. As I mentioned in the deleted thread I picked up two NOS Autoflug harnesses in separate auctions for about $200 total. I feel perfectly safe using them as they are NOS with 86 date codes. I've see them go for ridiculous money if the word Porsche is mentioned in the auction.

Why would a thread about Autoflug harnesses be deleted?

    WHY? Why indeed.....

I suspect it makes *some* people feel too....confined. Too... resticted.. Too sufficating.

Good question. I wanted to see more of the info also and appreciate what little I have seen.

All I know is that in the thread I got bagged on by someone because that someone made an assumption that I was endangering myself because my harnesses must be 30 yr old crap since I only paid $200 for em, you get what you pay for, blah, blah, blah. Evidently he must have paid outrageous money for his NOS ones. I imagine it must have been embarrassing when I replied that mine were NOS too. Oops! I heard it later went down hill from there when the bag man was being bagged on by others? Don't know. I didn't get a chance to see any of that.

He did post a couple of cool pics of the harnesses mounted in his car. I saved one of them off because I was interested in the mounting for when I get around to installing mine. I'll see if I can't re-post it.

I had hoped to continue that thread because I've had questions for awhile concerning harness that may or may not have been supplied with the purpose cars. Found the one pic I saved. I'll start a new thread.

Kurt - it would be great to see some updated pictures/details of your car - I'm sure there are many people on here who (like me) used to wait eagerly for the latest installment...

OK, I'll ask: what is the control cable, a release mechanism? And is it an add-on or did it come from the belt manufacturer? Thanks!
