    RS for sale

    Hi

I know of an RS that is for sale at approx. 100$K. It is not matching numbers. It looks like the crankcase has been changed at a rebuild with an unstamped case, that has been stamped with the rebuilder company name. The rest of the car is original first series touring.

Is the price right for this one?

    John,

The price could be quite good depending on the condition but with a price like that either the owner is out of touch or it has some serious needs. Any photos to show us?

The car was sold before I even had time to look at it. But I will get a lot of pictures from the seller in a few days. VIN......393. Car will be used in Monte Carlo Historic rally. Original engine blew up some years ago and the engine case was swapped with a 83 alu case, and is stamped with the internal number of the shop and initials of the mechanic that did the job. It is still a 2,7RS spec. engine except for the case.

    Sold for 105K$

I am not surprised it sold quickly, especially for historic racing. Photos would be great either posted here or sent to me directly. I would like to add them to my data base of other '73 Carreras. Thanks.

for your database i have that car as ex germany in 1988 into UK, registered UMC228L and for sale in UK in 94/95 and at that stage "very non standard" - i did not record anything else against it then (i try to do better these days )

I will send you pics and details as soon as I get them.

I think it will be driven in this years Monty because it will maybe be for sale again next spring.

    John

Edit: Yes it the same car. The original German registration was "AA-AA 670" It is planned for this years Monty, sold to a Norwegian driver. There is tons of dokuments on the car all the way back to it was delivered new in Germany.
