Porsche Racing Hood Pin / Retaining Rings

Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase one or more of these front bonnet (hood) pin / clip / retaining ring things ???

There were four on the front of my car to retain the bonnet. The car is a 914/6 GT Factory Built Car. The material appears to be mild steel and they are rather crude in construction.

Each is approximatel 2 inches / 5cm / 50mm at its widest point.

I would pay a finder's fee for anyone's time, effort or engergy in assisting me.

    Warm regads,

    Parts Obsolete?

You might try Gary Emory at Parts Obsolete in McMinnville, Oregon. 503-835-2300 or GaryatPartsObsoletedotCom

It appears just "funky" enough that he might know about them.

I think these are used on many cars, including 'Merican Iron. I saw a set very similar to this on a Mustang GT350 the other day.

If you go to your local motorsports hard parts supplier. They are very similar to what is being sold to racers today.

I think we have those in stock

    Hi Bill,

Those look like the current retaining clips we use on the 996 & 997 RSR and Cup cars. The only difference is they are powder coated red. We have them with a wire leash and with out the wire leash.
You can call me at Porsche Motorsport of North America (714) 546-6939
    ext.14 or email me rgrago@porschemotorsport.com.
    Hope this help.

    Best regards,
