Question Early Starkey R, RS, RSR

Anybody with one of the early versions of this book? There are so many editions it seems. I have a line on one but am unsure what I'm in for. The seller can't or wont show me a picture. Did these come with dust jackets? Seller says "no". I also seem to recall the books themselves were different colors. Anyone care to tell me some details of the version they own?

Should it be like a Porsche and "get the newest one you can afford"?

Mine was published in 1995 and it says 'Limited Edition of 2000'. It has a dust jacket. I've seen the latest edition and it has significantly more information than my edition.

Here is a picture of mine. I've had two different editions both had dust covers.

    Thanks Mike,

That looks like an early edition and sounds like what the seller was describing. Although, that one doesn't look like it has a dust jacket?

Do the book boards underneath look the same as the DJ?

    I bought Starkey's latest book,

    "From R to GT3R - The Racing Porsches 911 & 930"

which is almost verbatum the book you mentioned plus it includes all the subsequent models combined into one volume, with one exception; the new book has a huge appendix listing every race that every model in the book ever participated in, their placings, who drove, etc. etc. That part may not be of interest to everyone.

Super guy, excellent prices, specializes in Porsche books, (new, used, out-of-print, limited edition), knows his business and is completely trustworthy. Ships via U.S. Mail @ $ 3.00 a pop, takes Pay Pal. Hasn't failed me yet.

By the way, I really don't think I missed your point, and it was not my intent to quote you, merely to paraphrase what you wrote. No harm done, I trust.
