Tracing the US history of my 1965 Porsche 911 2.0

Good morning, I own an early 1965 Porsche 911 2.0. The certificate of authenticity indicates that the car was sold by Competition Motors from Culver City. The car was brought to Europe later in its life, where I live. Is there a way to know more about the history of this car, such as who were the US owners of the car, its former US plates, etc? Also, I have read that Kardex are no longer obtainable... Is this correct or otherwise what would be a way to obtain it? So many thanks for your help & all the best.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

Competition Motors was the regional distributor for southern California, Arizona and southern Nevada. They had quite a number of dealers under their wing. The Kardex could possibly have an owner history, but getting much more than the first is very unlikely. Almost no chance of anything else unless the documentation came with the car. Yes, I can supply a Kardex, but need your email address.

Hello Dave, I did send you an email some days ago with my email address and the VIN number. Being new to the Registry I am not sure I sent the message properly. If it did not receive anything, please let me know and I will try again. Many thanks.

You need to get your post count up before the forum SW will allow you to use the PM and Email features. I think it’s around 10 posts. Do it wisely by posting pictures of Porsche’s.

    We like that.
