    FS: ST gas tank

This tank was in a 71S I bought a couple of years ago. I’m restoring the car and have decided to use a stock tank. The car was and remains a street car, so I was curious about how the tank ended up in the car. The original owner was a gentleman who did a little IMSA racing in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I was able to speak with him and he said that at the time he had a couple of these tanks and just thought it would be neat to have one in his street car.

I’ve gone back and forth about using it in the car but at this point I believe it would be best to sell it to help fund the ongoing restoration. Besides, it more appropriately belongs in a ST style car. As you can see it is labeled – K Kurz Hessental KG, TU1 005 0170, dated 1971.

    SOLD
    Thanks for looking

is the small cap on the top a plug of some sort or is it just setting there?

The small cap next to the sender is a homemade plug for a hole that I assume is to accommodate a center fill arrangement. The hole aligns with the center of the hood.
