    1971 911S fuel problem?

Can anyone help me with the following or any suggestions. I have 1971 911S (MFI) that i managed to run the fuel tank almost dry. The engine was sputtering and finally quit. I put fuel in managed to drive it home running rough and now it won't start at all. Has anyone else experience a simular problem, or have any suggestions. Winter is arround the corner (help!) Rick.

    Rick,
Change the fuel filter(s) there is usually a bunch of crap at the bottom of gas tanks that will get sucked into filter if you run tank dry.

The fuel pumps are cooled and lubricated by the fuel, running it dry may have seized up the pump, check for electrical power to the pump and then verify if the pump is even running and pumping out fuel.

    Thanks guy's ,
It's still not running, l have spark, the fuel pump is running ,l can feel it run, But l don't know how much fuel pressure it's putting out.It was recommended that l change fuel filter in case of dirt.l disconnected all lines ,removed the filter/housing,and placed in a vice holding the flange. l COULD NOT remove the outside housing , How hard should l pull? l don't what too damage the unit.I'm assumeing this is a right hand thread, right?
    Thanks Rick
