I read through the description. They list the mileage on the odometer but don't say anything more about it, other than the the engine was rebuilt 30K ago. Can you imagine the hyperbole you would have to suffer through if they actually thought the car actually had mileage in the 50s!

Here is an answer on the mileage issue, in an email I received from Bill @ CC

    Hi,
    Thank you for your interest.
The car has a 5-digit odometer.
Let's assume it to be 150,000 - that would pencil out to 5,000 miles driven per year. By the looks of the car, it could be 50,000 - but can't be guaranteed.
We actually purchased the car from the old man's mechanic and have not have a chance to talk to him about the miles.
    With best regards,
    Bill

What do they mean by this? I thought they bought it of the guy that first listed it on Ebay Auctions and hit the BIN at 31,500$?

    Auction Description:

Sold new in the U.K. as a LHD U.S.-specification example on July 1, 1973, this Porsche 911 S Targa was sporting Aubergine paintwork over a Beige leather interior, just as it appears today. Furthermore, it was very well optioned with Koni front and rear shock absorbers, front sport seats, and air conditioning.

Remaining with its first owner for only one year, this 911 S Targa was acquired by its second owner in 1974, and amazingly remained with him for the next thirty-two years. At that time, the car was acquired by its third owner in the Netherlands. Professionally repainted in its original Aubergine roughly ten years ago, the cars presents in very nice condition throughout, having clearly been well looked after throughout its life.

A 1973 911 S Targa is an excellent automobile in every regard, one that combines both performance, practicality, and the thrill of open-air motoring. Truly a fascinating example of its breed, this well optioned Targa is ready to be enjoyed by only its fourth custodian over the past forty-seven years.
