Will 195/65's fit my 5.5 Fuchs?

I'd like to run 195/65's on my 5.5 Fuchs. I heard 185/70 is probably more correct, but I would like the 195/65's if possible.

I was debating going with the deep 6's for this size, but maybe I can use what I already have. I've missed out on 2 sets in the last 2 weeks.

    Thx,

I had 195/50/15's on 15x5.5 BRM's. Fit was very snug (bulgey).
It would be best to do the deep 6's if you can.

I have 195-60's on my 5.5x15s, and they work fine.

Sounds like the 65 profile would be too much? I guess I can just shelf the 5.5's and keep looking for a set of deep 6's.

What do most people run on the deep 6's on a SWB....195/65?

    Thanks,

I have 195/65VR15s on 5.5" Fuchs with no problem. 5.5" rims are the narrow end of the recommended range of widths for most 195/65R15s.

195/65R15s are very close to the original diameter of 185/70R15s or 165R15s.

    Jim,

Do you have a pic of your car with the 195/65 on 5.5's? Just want to confirm how they look for that period feel. Any internal fender lip rolling required?

    Thanks,

I'm afraid all the photos I've taken of my car show it dressed for show with it's original 4.5" chromed steel wheels.

The sidewall height of 195/65R15 tires is just very slightly less than 165R15s or 185/70R15s, so appearance should be similar to the original ires.

When I use the Fuchs, I need spacers to avoid rubbing on the MacPherson strut, and a spacer in the back helps, too. I think I have 1/4" front and 5mm rear spacers. The front tires should be about 20mm closer to the edge of the wheel well than with th 165R15s. That's not very much. There was no need to roll he fender lip.
