Thread: Value of 7 x 15 RS fuchs

    Value of 7 x 15 RS fuchs

I just picked up a pair of 7 x 15 fuchs, these are different from past 7 x 15 I have owned, they have silver paddles and part # ends in 11 instead fo 41. The date stamp is 10/73 so I would assume these came off a RS. Anyone know value of these I also have the matching front 15 x 6's.
    Thanks,
    Phil

Sorry but these are later wheels which accept the 'ring' type centre caps.

The 7" Fuchs that were used on the RS are part number:

    911.361.020.01

    - they accept the 3-pronged centre caps.

    Andy,

Does this (3-pronged c.c.) apply for the 8" as well?

    Thanks,

    Richard

Phil - 911.360.020.42 is an 8x15" Fuchs wheel

    Richard:

As far as part numbers go, from memory of the 7's & 8's I've had

01 is a 7" wheel which takes the 3-pronged centre cap (as used on '73 RS)
11 is a 7" wheel (in early finish) which takes the 'ring' type centre cap
41 is a 7" wheel as '11' above but with painted centre

02 is a 8" wheel which takes the 3-pronged centre cap (as used on '73 RS)
12 is a 8" wheel (in early finish) which takes the 'ring' type centre cap
42 is a 8" wheel as '12' above but with painted centre

Conclusion: "only the .01 and .02 are correct RS wheels"?

No - don't forget that the early 2.7RS were equipped with 6&7 x 15" Fuchs.

    6x15" part number is:

911.360.020.00 - which accepts the 3-pronged centre cap

Phil, to add to the confusion:

The forging number was not always the number that you used to order.
Each of these had a different order number.

    911 361 020 01 & 02 came in three finishes:
RSR spokes dipped black (early race dept. on STs & 914GTs etc)
    anodize spokes dipped black
    unpainted (for color to match)
The forging number refers to three prong cap (lug centric) and replaced by:

    911 361 020 11 & 12 came in five finishes:
anodize spokes two stage outer dipped black (like 74 Carrera)
black center two stage outer (like 75 Carrera)
unpainted (for color to match) two stage outer
black center single stage anodize outer 77 & up ?
unpainted (for color match) single stage outer 77 & up ?
the forging number refers to ring cap (hub centric for 74-MY) and replaced by:

    911 361 020 41 & 42 came in two finishes
    black center
    unpainted (for color to match)
they all are single finish on the outer like the 16s
the 41 & 42 were later wheels (80s ?) and are usually thicker matieral as the car got heavier. Some late ones are 2mm thicker.

The RSR 9s & 11s did not follow this logic as they were race only wheels. the 03 & 05 came with either cap hole depending on mfg. date. They were all RSR finish but also came unpainted for color to match. After 73 you usually got whatever she had in stock.

    confused yet?

Hi Phil, does your 7 x15 take a 3 prong or ring style cap. I have/had several sets of early *** 01 7x15s and a pair was dated 10/73.

In case it helps other dates I have are 10/71, 6/72, and 3/73 all are 3 prong 7 x 15.

    Thanks

    Alan
