Sport seats .. bad or good deal??

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...1032166&rd=1,1

I was about to ask your guys opinion about the frames that comes w/ this pair but some one already bought it

The seller have seen the 'sliders' sell for $1800. Probably true, but are they correct for Porsche?? Also what makes these seat 73 when the frames are not 73 (that much I know). Please pay attention to the sliders.

You are correct Richard those are not factory sliders, some one has added those. They have also cut of the 4 tabs that would have been used to bolt the seat to the correct frame and then screwed/bolted those after market sliders to the seat.

    those are not factory sliders
That is what I was afraid off. Seems to me that the buyer paid at least $1800 too much (unless the frames can be sold for that much). On top of that are the 4 tabs cut off (sharp eye, Alan).

In my view a bad deal for the buyer (and we better be aware w/ this seller).

The seats could also come from Opel Kadett Rally. They used a similar Recaro seat. I have only seen pictures so I can not tell if the have the exact same size. The sliders seem be of later date, could be recaro anyway. The tilt mechanism looks like the Recaro Rally version. Sold both as 3:rd party and along in the "sport utility list". That means that some was sold by the factory. Great to have along with Recaro 1300/1328 Rally seats.

$3600 + the cost of shipping to the UK + 17.5% VAT when they arrive...

I would have expected a Porsche set-up like Export 56 to know better...

I was surprised as well. They had been advertised here but the ebay description didn't mention Recaro!

Nick, those are great looking seats. Saw them on ebay but forgot to bid. Oh well glad you got them. I love the houndstooth. Funny how back in the day everyone wanted all black. No more now.
